Handwoven Satchel with Wood Pedestal

I love how the top effortlessly glides on its thin strap.  I don't know the origin or purpose of this, but find it intriguing. A few small signs of wear are visible but overall in great vintage condition.  11"W x 10"H x 3 1/2"D.
